Memorial Day Weekend

My last day of school and the start of the Memorial day weekend, we spent at Cory's Grandpa Hawkins' Funeral. Ironically, Cory's Grandpa Langston died two days after, on memorial day, so our weekend was fillid with family, friends and remembering two great men. I guess, that's the way memorial day should be. Both Grandpas lived in Hurricane their whole lives, were best friends, and died within a week of each other. They were both given millitary honors, which was pretty cool. I wasn't sure it was appropriate to take pictures at the first funeral, so the pics of us with grandpa Hawkins don't match up to the pictures of Grandpa Langston's bureal.

This picture was taken on Grandpa Hawkins 85th birthday, about two weeks before he passed away. Grandpa Hawkins is who Luke Arlond is named after and we are lucky to have spent that time with him.

On Saturday, My family came to have some fun. We decided to take off, and went on the River walk at Zion National Park. We had so much fun with everyone and love when they come to play with us. Cory and Luke were brave and waded in the cold water at the end of the hike.
Brett and Luke loved feeding the people friendly little critters. We noticed the "do not feed the wildlife" signs, until after we fed them chips and cookies.
A nice family photo opp.

Getting a free ride from Bryan
Monday was yet another day of fun. We spent the night at AuBrie's Grandma's house in St. George. They had horses and a great swing set the kids loved. We set out to hike at Snow Canyon State Park to have yet another adventure. The first half of the hike was miserable. It was hot, and the trail was all sand, so we carried the kids. When we got to the rocks, the mood changed and we had lots of fun climbing on the rocks and hanging out in the shade.

This is one of my favorite pictures of the boys. They are starting to be great friends.
